I haven't given up...it's just on the back burner for now until I get the MA shade setup exactly the way I want it. Then I might dive into an advanced EA coding setup to see if I can build around it.
Alright cool.

Chart Test

Ok gang, general opinion time. I need a recommendation on this chart. It looks like a breakout and retest for a long but I want some backup.

What do you think?

Forget the time frame or the pair...

Ok Jav, now look at it with the new MA Shade setup and tell me what you think...still want honest opinions. We have a bullish crossover but no confirmation yet until it breaks the previous high.

Potentially bullish or bearish?

now that tells a different tale-red candles but looks like the ma you have there pointing up with the ma blue now may be the support it needs

New MA Shade Template

I went back and changed a few things on the Shade Trading template. I placed the candles at the forefront of the chart instead of having them behind the MA shades. I also changed the colors so that the candles stand out easily and can be seen. Lastly, I changed the color on the EMA62 MA so that it shows up more easily.

This is what it looks like now. I've zipped the new template and placed it as an attachment on the post.

Thanks Pennies. How would you read that? I see a sell signal in the H&S TDI pattern as well as a break down in the candle. But I don't know what to do with the shading (I haven't looked through all your old posts, so feel free to just say so if the explanation's already up there).

I'd wait for a confirmation bounce--like Jav, I worry about the strength of that pull back.

Yes Kermit, a confirmation bounce is needed for sure. Thanks for the input.

I've got some details of the MA Shade indi trading setup posted but I'll try to consolidate them into one post and make a note at the beginning of the board so it'l be easy to find in the future.

Reworked my MT4 setup to tile the windows and show every time frame on each pair in a separate profile from the 5 minute to the weekly chart. This way, I can see the entire trend at a glance.

I didn't know it but there is a hot key combination that allows you to cycle through your profiles without having to go to the menu and hit File, Profiles, etc.

Once you have your profiles set up and saved ( I have mine simplified...named AUD-USD, EUR-USD, GBP-USD, and USD.JPY), just press the Ctrl-F5 key combo or the SHIFT-F5 combo to flip back and forth between the profiles. I deleted all of the original profiles that came with the MT4 install so I'd only have mine to go through.

I also now have MT4 set up to load my favorite template by default instead of having to go in and apply the template to each new chart I open up.

Here's a screen shot of the setup now...trend at a glance. We can see how the longer time frames are doing and then take trades on the smaller time frames depending on what the larger trends are doing.

MA Shade Trading Setup Posted on Front Page

Ok gang, I've got the entire MA Shade setup with detailed explanations, charts, the template, and the indicator all in one zip file on the very first post of the board here. That way, it'll be easy to find for anyone who wants it.

Just go to post #1 and everything is listed at the bottom of the post.
